The Field Manual / AI search & discovery

How to prepare your website for AI search and agent booking

The short answer

Make your actual offer easy to verify: publish useful answers, current pricing and scope, evidence from your work, and a clear booking path. Test what assistants say about you over time. Keep approval explicit whenever an agent moves from reading to acting.

Why publish pricing and the variables behind it?

A clear price helps a person or assistant answer a cost question without guessing. Include the unit, term, included work, exclusions and any conditions. When a quote varies, explain what changes it and who confirms the final scope.

Our pricing distinguishes a documents-only Diagnostic from implementation in a monthly tier. That distinction is more useful than a generic 'AI consulting starts at' statement. Transparency helps evaluation; it does not guarantee preferred treatment from an AI system.

What makes scheduling usable by an agent?

A clear service name, duration, timezone, availability and confirmation state help a booking flow make sense. Label form fields, show validation errors and explain cancellation or rescheduling. If a CRM offers a booking integration, verify that it supports the workflow you actually need.

Reading availability and making a reservation are different permissions. Require the customer's confirmation before committing an appointment. API-based booking also needs scoped access, duplicate-request protection and a reliable confirmation. This article does not add an autonomous booking API to our site.

What should replace generic articles?

Publish the decisions your business can explain from experience. Include the input that changes a recommendation, a worked example and the limits of the result. Our project pages describe named engagements; an illustrative calculation is labeled as an example. Avoid inventing a client quote to fill a template.

Keep one substantial answer for each distinct need and link to related detail. Producing many near-identical pages for keyword variations creates maintenance work and gives the reader little new information.

How do we track AI visibility without inventing a score?

Choose a small set of real questions about your service, price, fit and first step. Repeat them across the assistants your customers use. Log the date, platform and model when known, exact prompt, cited URLs, answer accuracy and missing facts. Save a response excerpt only when it contains no personal information.

Compare repeat observations instead of treating one answer as a ranking. Review Search Console's available reports, referral traffic and qualified inquiries alongside the log. Correct stale source pages first. The kit provides a blank visibility log; no platform monitoring is running just because you download it.
